This two-volume study establishes a reliable foundation for dating nearly one hundred paintings from Taklung Monastery in central Tibet and its sister monastery, Riwoche in eastern Tibet. The author employs visual lineages, inscriptions, narrative scenes, and style analysis to pinpoint chronological designations for paintings spanning the twelfth to mid-sixteenth centuries. The essential set includes over 800 images, providing vivid details, key visual comparisons, and deciphered inscriptions for a comprehensive understanding of Taklung art.
