About This Event
This study trip delves into the historical and artistic significance of three First-ranked Royal Temples in Bangkok: Wat Suthat Thepwararam, Wat Ratchapradit Sathit Maha Simaram, and Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram. Led by Mrs. Eileen Deeley, the trip will explore how these temples were used by Chakri kings to project power, legitimize their dynasty, showcase modernity, and reform Buddhism. The program includes visits to Wat Suthat, Wat Ratchapradit, Wat Ratchabophit, and Wat Sommanat, offering insights into their unique architecture, mural paintings, and historical context.
