About This Event
The 5th edition of the international contemporary art festival, Bangkok Art Biennale (BAB), will be held under the concept 'Angels and Mara,' which reflects hope amidst tension, conflict, and the coexistence of opposites in the current world. Over 200 contemporary artworks from 60 leading artists worldwide will be displayed at important landmarks across Bangkok, including Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan, Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, Wat Prayurawongsawat Worawihan, National Museum Bangkok, National Gallery, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Museum Siam, and One Bangkok. The event aims to establish Bangkok as a global hub for contemporary art and a destination for art lovers. The first group of 15 international artists announced includes Mandy El-Sayeh (UK), Yasumasa Morimura (Japan), Korakrit Arunanondchai (Thailand), Sun Yuan and Peng Yu (China), Piero Golia (Italy), Teerapol Sisangk (Thailand), Manit Sriwanichpoom (Thailand), Mary Pakini (Pakinee Sricharoensuk) (Thailand), Shin Min (South Korea), Mahtab Hussain & Guy Gunaratne (UK), Ten Lin (Myanmar), Gerard & Kelly (USA), Mel Chin (USA), Sonia Hamza (France), and Re (Myanmar).
